Official City of Cedar Rapids Tree Lighting is December 3 at Greene Square

The City of Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department will hold the official City tree lighting on Saturday, December 3 at Greene Square, 400 4th Avenue SE. This year’s tree is a 35-foot blue spruce donated by the Mike Condon family who will light the tree at 5:30 p.m. following remarks by Mayor Tiffany O’Donnell.
The tree lighting ceremony will be preceded by family activities beginning at 4 p.m. at the downtown Cedar Rapids Public Library and in Greene Square. Activities include making glow necklaces at the library; and a scavenger hunt, story reading, and “reindeer games” and other family activities in Greene Square. Boulevard Grill and Keepin Up with the Jones’s food trucks will be available with food and hot chocolate for sale.
