The City of Cedar Rapids Development Services Division and Building Services Division is excited to announce that we will be rolling out our new online City of Cedar Rapids Customer Self-Service (CSS) portal which will allow our customers the ability to apply for permit applications, pay for permit applications, and schedule permit inspections.
As we roll out this system, more functionality features will be added, the first being permit applications. This system provides transparency and efficiency between the contractor/applicant and the City. On December 5th, 2022, the City will implement the following permit applications: fence permits, furnace replacement permits, water heater replacements, and electrical service replacements. Please note this is NOT an automatic permit, it is a request and does not guarantee approval.
