Register Now for Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Fall Programs

The Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department’s fall program registration began online Monday, August 1. Registrations are now being accepted online; by phone, 319-286-5566; or in person, during regular business hours, at the Northwest Recreation Center, 1340 11^th Street NW, or the City Services Center, 500 15^th Avenue SW. Play CR, the recreation program guide for all ages and abilities, is available online at CRREC.org. All Cedar Rapids, Hiawatha and Robins residents will receive theguide in the mail the week of August 8. Play CR starts on page 25 of Our CR, the City of Cedar Rapids’ quarterly magazine.

New programs this fall include Walk Like a Duck, Quack Like a Duck that highlights the waterfowl exhibit at Old MacDonald’s Farm; Farm to Table programs that teach how to save on your grocery bill by preserving food; Spooky Hayrack Night and a fall NERF Armory Workshop at Ushers Ferry; free fitness programs; and fall Tiny Tees T-Ball, Learning Lacrosse, and Super Kickers Soccer.

Fall programs at Northwest Recreation Center include adult and youth basketball, art, belly dance, drop-in cards and pickleball, karate, Kyudo Renmei, Special Populations activities and sports, toddler/preschool activities, volleyball, and open gyms. 

Popular fall events are back including the Fall Leaf Tour, Safe Halloween and Harvest Hayrack Nights at Ushers Ferry Historic Village, Movie Night and County Fair at Old MacDonald’s Farm, Friday Night Spooky Swim and swim lessons at Bender Pool; golf at the City’s three courses and mini golf at Mini Pines; and football, soccer, and adult softball.

Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation offers a low-income assistance program, RecAssist, for individuals and families with financial need. The program offers a discount on swim passes and recreation programs to those who qualify. Learn more and apply at CityofCR.com/RecAssist.
