Officers arrived on scene to locate Koob near the street and found he had been wounded by gunfire. He was transported to a local hospital that evening for serious injuries.
The investigation determined, however, that Koob knocked on the door of the property. A 49-year old male and a 37-year old male stepped outside with Koob. Neither of the two men knew Koob and saw that Koob had a gun in his hand. Koob was allegedly yelling at the men and an altercation occurred.
Koob pointed and fired a handgun at the 49-year old male right outside of the property. The bullet struck the building behind the victim where several people were gathered. The 49-year old male was armed with a handgun and fired at Koob when Koob was allegedly preparing to point his handgun at the 49-year old male once again.
A warrant request was submitted by investigators and the Linn County Attorney approved charges. Koob was arrested yesterday on the warrants and was transported to the Linn County Correctional Center.
