Noelridge Aquatic Center to Open Saturday

The Cedar Rapids municipal pool swimming season will begin tomorrow with pre-season swimming at Noelridge Aquatic Center on Saturday, May 29; Sunday, May 30; and Monday, May 31 (Memorial Day). Lap swim will be held from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. each day and open swim from 1:00-6:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Monday. Swim schedules are dependent on weather, however, pools will be open at least until 4:00 p.m. to sell passes this weekend. The aquatic center may not open if the air temperature is below 70 degrees, there is a lighting or a severe storm in the area, or 50 or fewer people are in the facility for a period of one hour. Lap swim and water exercise will go back to normal drop in programming starting May 29^th at both indoor and outdoor pools.

Noelridge Aquatic Center will open on Friday, June 4 with lap swim from 5:15-6:15 p.m., and open swim from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Regular season swimming begins at Noelridge on Saturday, June 5. Cherry Hill Aquatic Center will now open on Friday, June 11 with a lap swim from 5:15-6:15 p.m. and evening swim from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The regular season for Cherry Hill begins on Saturday, June 12. The one-week delay allows more time to train recently hired lifeguards. Bever, Jones and Ellis Pools are scheduled to open in late June, depending on staffing levels. Both punch passes and season passes are now available for purchase. Season passes and punch passes provide admission to Water Exercise classes and Open, Family, Adult and daily Lap Swims as age appropriate. Punch pass prices have been lowered this summer due to possible schedule adjustments related to COVID or staffing. Passes offer a reduced rate for those who swim on a regular bases. Passes will be sold at the pools during open hours and at the NW Recreation Center limited hours. Please see available purchase times at crrec.org. Online pass purchases will be available soon. The punch pass may be used by an individual, a group or transferred to another person. Season passes expire on September 6, 2021, while punch passes are good for two years and expire on September 5, 2022. If transferring from a punch pass to a season pass please call 319-286-5566.
