National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, April 2-8, 2017
The Linn County Crime Victims’ Rights Week Committee invites the media and the public to attend events during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, April 2-8, 2017. National Crime Victims’ Rights Week is an opportunity for victims of all crimes to be remembered, recognized and honored. National Crime Victims’ Rights Week also recognizes all of the agencies that assist, support, and restore victims of crimes. This year’s theme is “Strength, Resilience, and Justice.”
There will be several events during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, including:
April 1, 2017, 9:00 a.m. - Thomas Park, Marion – Annual Go the Distance for Crime Victims 5K Run/Walk
April 2, 2017, 1:00 p.m. - Hiawatha Community Center – Opening Ceremonies
April 4, 2017, 10:00 a.m. - Linn County Courthouse (lawn area)- Pinwheel Garden Ceremony
April 4, 2017, 5:00 p.m. - William G. Faches Center – Victim Empathy Circle
April 7, 2017, 7:00 p.m. - Horizons - Candlelight Vigil for Victims of Homicide
The Linn County Crime Victims’ Rights Week Committee is a conglomeration of Linn County law enforcement agencies and service agencies that provide care and support for victims of crime.
