1890-1905: In 1891, the old lumber yard at the “SW” corner of Third Street and 11th Avenue SE was moved to downtown Cedar Rapids and a splendid new CSPS Social Hall was built at this corner. It was an impressive three story brick and stone structure with a distinctive brick arch entrance. The new CSPS Hall with its street level retail spaces was designed to be an anchor building for more development on Third Street SE.
