City Buses

Discounted fares are available to those that qualify:

Students - Students attending Cedar Rapids Community School District (CRCSD), Kirkwood Community College, or Coe College are eligible for year-round, no-cost rides on all fixed-route buses operated by Cedar Rapids Transit. CRCSD high school students, Kirkwood Community College students, and Coe College students must show their school ID. CRCSD elementary and middle school students are not required to show their school ID.

Students attending other high schools, colleges, or universities served by Cedar Rapids Transit qualify for half fares (cash, Day-Pass, 10-Ride, and 31-Day Pass) with valid ID, elementary and middle school students do not need a school ID.

Senior Passengers (age 65+) - qualify for half fares (cash, Day-Pass, 10-Ride, and 31-Day Pass). Proof of age or a CR Transit Half Fare ID Card are acceptable documents to qualify for the half fares.

Passengers with Disabilities - qualify for half fares (cash, Day-Pass, 10-Ride, and 31-Day Pass) with valid CR Transit Half Fare ID Card.

Medicare Passengers - qualify for half fares (cash, Day-Pass, 10-Ride, and 31-Day Pass). Proof of Medicare card or a CR Transit Half Fare ID Card are acceptable documents to qualify for the half fares.

Income Based - qualify for half fares (cash, Day-Pass,10-Ride, and 31-Day Pass) with valid Half Fare ID card. Please read this Income Based Brochure, contact 319-286-5573, or email m.williams@cedar-rapids.org for more information.

Children - age 5 and under must be accompanied by a passenger that is 13 years or older.

Passengers that qualify for half fares must present proof of their half-fare eligibility when riding the bus. Half- Fare Applications are also available at the Information Booth at the GTC, please call 319-286-5573 or email m.williams@cedar-rapids.org for more information.
