1990-present: The Five Seasons Center Arena and Stouffer’s Five Seasons Hotel occupied this entire block starting in 1978. By the early 2000’s, the arena was renamed the U. S. Cellular Center. The hotel also experienced name changes, becoming the Crowne Plaza Hotel by the time of the June 2008 Flood. The flood permanently damaged the signature escalators that were a popular feature of the hotel/convention/arena complex.
