Cedar Rapids Police Release 2023 Crime Statistics

The Cedar Rapids Police Department has released its 2023 Crime Statistics report.
Interim Police Chief Tom Jonker indicates 2023 was a year with notable improvements in several key areas, including shots-fired incidents at the lowest seen in the last five years.
"Overall, Cedar Rapids is a safe city where families and businesses should feel secure," said Jonker. "Every member of the CPRD works each day to ensure it remains that way,” said Jonker. “I am proud of our team’s efforts and the results shown in our 2023 report. The Cedar Rapids community continues to support the Police Department in many ways and we truly appreciate it."
