K9Splash! at Bever Pool August 7-8

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – July 12, 2021 – K9COLA (Citizens for Off-Leash Areas) and the City of Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department are hosting the K9Splash! dog swim at Bever Park Pool in Cedar Rapids.

The event takes place on Saturday, August 7 and Sunday, August 8 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (10:00 to 11:00 a.m. for dogs under 15 inches only). Proceeds from K9Splash! benefit off-leash parks in Cedar Rapids and the City of Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department.

Registration will be held at Bever Pool on the day of the event starting at 9:30 a.m. both mornings. (Advance registration will not be offered this year.) The cost is $15 per dog per day. Proof of vaccinations is required at registration.

Participants must provide proof of Rabies, Parvo, and Distemper vaccines from a vet (rabies tag is not enough), sign a waiver, and complete a registration form. Puppies must be 4 months or older to attend. Registration forms and waivers, along with a complete list of rules, are available at k9cola.org. For their safety, children less than 48 inches tall will not be admitted into the pool area.

K9COLA is looking for volunteers to help with the event. Volunteers receive special incentives including a free t-shirt and entry into the event depending on the hours volunteered. Please contact Kelly at kelly@k9cola.org for more details on helping with the event.
