City of Cedar Rapids Offers Business and Community Kickstart Program

The City of Cedar Rapids, in partnership with the Kirkwood Small Business Development Center, has launched the Business and Community Kickstart Program (BACK Cedar Rapids). BACK Cedar Rapids provides funding and resources for technical assistance to small businesses recovering from pandemic and derecho related challenges.

BACK Cedar Rapids support is offered to businesses with fewer than 100 employees located within Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The program will employ specialty counselors through the Kirkwood Small Business Development Center to address various areas of need to speed the rate of return to a vibrant market.

Assistance offered through the program includes:

  • Sales and Marketing Strategy - Help provide a blueprint to get, keep and grow customers.
  • Marketing Technology Systems  - Assist with marketing technology systems and identifying resources to assist with marketing subscriptions, integrations and implementation assistance.
  • Human Resources. – Provide ad-hoc services including company policy changes of a remote work force, recruiting strategies for rebuilding workforces, hiring policies, etc.
  • Finance and Bookkeeping – Assist with applications for financial assistance such as federal and state loans and grants, cash flow analysis and strategies, etc.
