Shooting in 100 Block of Curtis Street SW Update (Victim Name Released)
 

On Sunday, July 12, 2020 at 3:54 a.m. Cedar Rapids police officers received a report of shots fired in the Summit View Village in the 100 block of Curtis Street SW.  Officers arrived on scene to find a 19-year old male who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. 

Police officers, firefighters, and Area Ambulance Service personnel provided emergency medical care at the scene.  Shortly thereafter, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The victim has been identified as Keyshawn Vondale Allers, DOB/05-31-2001, age 19, of Palo, IA.  Allers has been transported to the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner in Ankeny, IA for an autopsy.  

There is an active homicide investigation.
