Free Events offered at Ushers Ferry June 19 and June 26

Cedar Rapids, IA – June 14, 2019 – The City of Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department’s Ushers Ferry Historic Village, Indian Creek Nature Center, Matthew 25, and Prairiewoods Franciscan Spirituality Center joined forces again this year to bring the community a celebration for each of the four seasons in 2019 – Spring Equinox, Summer Solstice, Fall Equinox Harvest and Winter Solstice. Each of the four celebrations is hosted by a different organization.

The Summer Solstice celebration will be held Wednesday, June 19 from 7:30-9:00 p.m. at Ushers Ferry Historic Village, 5925 Seminole Valley Trail NE. Fun activities will be available for all ages. Admission is free (donations accepted).

Additionally, Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation’s Ushers Ferry Historic Village will be open for touring during the Freedom Festival on Wednesday, June 26 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Visitors are invited to experience an evening in a small Iowa town at the turn-of-the-century and meet people from the past.
