Kirkwood Blvd SW and Woodstone Lane SW Roundabout
The City of Cedar Rapids, in partnership with the College Community School District, is reconstructing the intersection of Kirkwood Blvd SW and Woodstone Lane SW into a single-lane roundabout to help support traffic volumes and safely manage the flow of traffic.
About the Project
This intersection will serve as the main entrance to a new 5th/6th grade building at College Community School District. The intersection will transition into a single-lane roundabout to help support additional traffic volumes and safely manage the flow of traffic. The roundabout that was constructed in 2017 at Prairie Point Middle School to the north of this intersection operates extremely well, and the City and school district are pleased to partner on this important improvement project.
Timeline and Traffic Impacts
- The project will begin early June 2021 and will be completed fall 2021.
- Kirkwood Blvd SW will be closed the duration of the summer, from the Prairie Point Middle School roundabout to Wright Brothers Blvd.
- Residents who live in the subdivision off Woodstone Ln SW will always have access to their homes.
