Student ID Numbers Now Work as Library Cards

All students in the Cedar Rapids Community School District (CRCSD) now have a library card at their fingertips in the form of their Student ID. The Cedar Rapids Public Library has collaborated with CRCSD to turn Student ID numbers into Library Cards as of the beginning of the school year.

Students can use their student ID number and a special six digit prefix of 1000301 as their library card number. The last four digits of their Student ID acts as a pin. No physical card is necessary. Students can visit CRLibrary.org/student-resources for tools and resources to assist them with homework as well as keep them entertained.

The Cedar Rapids Public Library is a fine free library and digital materials return automatically upon their due dates. A library card provides instant access to thousands of physical and digital materials, research tools, reference databases, and streaming movies and music.
