Once you receive your GARBY cart, you cannot set garbage out in a regular garbage can, because the automated collection system only works with the carts provided. The Cedar Rapids Solid Waste & Recycling Division has partnered with local businesses to provide drop-off locations if you are interested in recycling your old garbage can.

City Carton Recycling will have a designated bin for plastic garbage cans at
their 24 hour recycling drop-off location.
