Have you noticed an unsightly accumulation of junk items or garbage on residential property - possibly in someone's yard, on the driveway, or along the alley?
If you have, call the Solid Waste & Recycling Division at (319) 286-5890 and tell us the address. Our Nuisance Abatement Officer will take photos of the problem and send a notice to the property owner directing them to clean up the mess.
If the owner fails to act on the direction, the officer will arrange for the collection of the items and a bill will be sent to the property owner. If the property owner fails to pay their bill for the clean up, the charges are assessed against the property.
