City Parks
The Cedar Rapids system of parks is the largest municipal system in Iowa. It consists of 73 parks and uses areas encompassing approximately 4,000 acres.
The Parks and Recreation Department maintains parks, playgrounds, restrooms, ball fields, pavilions, and the Bever Park Zoo. Facilities are maintained on a seasonal basis to make your visit as clean, safe and enjoyable as possible. We try to have water systems including drinking fountains and restrooms turned on and available to the public by the last weekend in April. These facilities are maintained on a daily basis until the second weekend in October at which time they are winterized in anticipation of freezing weather. We hope your visits to the parks are both frequent and enjoyable.
