Stabilization of Museum Collection - Proposal #0609-336

Scope of Work:
The City of Cedar Rapids is seeking a qualified vendor to perform stabilization of over 680 items in the Veteran's Memorial Spanish American War Museum collection that were damaged in the flood of 2008. Vendor shall digitally photograph each item, assess and document the present condition of each item and provide a treatment proposal to stabilize the item. Documentation of the stabilization treatment applied to each item shall be provided. Stabilization shall be performed on each item in order to bring the item back to its previous function and to a point where no further degradation occurs. Contractor shall have an understanding of FEMA practices and procedures as they relate to museum collections.
