Elderly Services

The Cedar Rapids Police Department's Elderly Services Program is designed to educate seniors in the community against elderly abuse (both physical and mental), financial exploitation, sexual exploitation, and scams that prey on elderly citizens.

The Elderly Services Offender's Program is being designed to network with social service agencies such as the Department of Aging, AARP, The Department of Human Services, The Linn County Senior Advocates, Alzheimer's Association of East Central Iowa and various other state and local agencies that provide assistance to the elderly in and around the Cedar Rapids area.

This program along with the networking services can aid the officer on the street to get immediate help for elderly victims of crimes or elders living in substandard conditions throughout the city.
