K9Splash! is August 12 & 13 at Bever Pool - Register Today
CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – August 2, 2017 – K9COLA (Citizens for Off-Leash Areas) and the City of Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department are hosting the K9Splash! dog swim at Bever Park Pool in Cedar Rapids.
The event takes place on Saturday, August 12 and Sunday, August 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (9:30 to 10:30 a.m. for dogs under 15 inches only). Proceeds from K9Splash! benefit off-leash parks in Cedar Rapids and the City of Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department.
Walk-in registration is available now through August 9 until 5:00 p.m. and online registration is available until August 11. The cost to pre-register is $10 per dog per day (plus additional fees for online registration). The fee is $15 per dog per day on the day of the event. A link to online pre-registration is available at k9cola.org or pre-registration can be done through Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation in person at the Northwest Recreation Center, 1340 11th Street NW.
Participants must provide proof of Rabies, Parvo, and Distemper vaccines from a vet (a rabies tag is not enough), sign a waiver, and complete a registration form. Registration forms and waivers along with a complete list of rules are available at k9cola.org. Off-Leash Permit tags will not be accepted as proof of vaccinations. For their safety, children less than 10 years old and 48 inches tall will not be admitted into the pool area.
K9COLA is looking for volunteers to help with the event. Volunteers receive special incentives including a free t-shirt and entry into the event depending on the hours volunteered. Please contact Kelly at volunteer@k9cola.org for more details on helping with the event.
