Parks & Recreation Summer Program Registration Begins Online February 27 at 5:00 PM
Cedar Rapids, IA – February 23, 2017 – The Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department will begin accepting online registrations for programs that run from April 1 through August 31 on February 27 at 5:00 p.m. The summer program catalog is available online at www.crrec.org and starts on page 25 of Our CR magazine. Cedar Rapids residents will begin receiving the magazine in the mail on March 7.
For those who do not receive the mailing, the Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department’s Play! guide is available online at www.crrec.org. Copies of Our CR will also be available at local libraries and grocery stores after March 13.
Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation offers programs for all ages and abilities. Some new programs this year are Tiny Tot Nature Walks and Science, Animals on the Farm, Silly Science, What’s Your Habitat?, Dangerous Day Camp and Zombie Survival Junior Adventures, A Night on the Town, Do You Wanna Dance?, CRAM, Kyudo Renmei, Silver & Gold Club, Walking Club, Northwest Market, Adventures with Henry and Florence, Baseball Camp for Beginners, Adult Volleyball and events at Old MacDonald’s Farm. Other programs include For Kids Only! Day Camp, Adult Co-ed Mud Volleyball Tournament, summer camps at Ushers Ferry Historic Village, swim lessons, preschool classes, baseball and softball, basketball, blastball and T-ball, bowling, football, golf, kickball, soccer, adult softball, tennis, track, volleyball, art, guitar, adult belly dance and much more. The Play! guide also contains the pool schedules and park information.
Register quickly and conveniently online (www.crrec.org) with the department’s improved system, in person at Northwest Recreation Center (1340 11th Street NW) or City Services Center (500 15th Avenue SW), by phone (319-286-5566) or by mail. Northwest Recreation Center business hours are weekdays from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m., Saturdays 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Sundays 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. City Services business hours are weekdays from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Mail forms are available in the Play! guide and online.
