Police Investigating Fatal Stabbing Incident

Cedar Rapids police officers responded to 6725 College Park Court SW at 2:09 a.m. this morning for an 18-year old male that sustained a stab wound.  Emergency medical care was initiated at the scene and the victim was transported to Mercy Medical Center.  The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital approximately one hour later. 

The police department is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding this fatal stabbing incident.  Several individuals have been brought to the Cedar Rapids Police Department for questioning. 

This is an active, ongoing investigation. 

An autopsy will be conducted by the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner.  The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members.
