K9Splash Fundraiser for Dog Parks Goes Virtual

July 17, 2020

K9COLA (Citizens for Off-Leash Areas) and the City of Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation Department, announce a virtual event to replace K9Splash, the annual dog swim held at Bever Pool that raises money for local dog parks. The traditional event, which welcomed over 800 dogs each year to Bever Pool, was K9COLA’s largest and most popular fundraiser. The event has been transitioned into Virtual K9Splash on Saturday, August 8 and Sunday, August 9 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Each day, the organization will host Facebook Live events every half hour. Participants are asked to flood Facebook with pictures of their dogs enjoying water. Drawings for prizes will take place throughout the day. Suggested registration for the event is $15, but people are asked to donate what they can afford. Proceeds will benefit Cheyenne Off Leash Dog Area and K9 Acres in Cedar Rapids. Register for the event at https://www.k9cola.org/.

K9COLA (Citizens for Off-Leash Areas) is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization that works with the City of Cedar Rapids to support, develop, and maintain off-leash areas in the Cedar Rapids community. The organization has provided funding for agility equipment, pavilions, painting of benches and erosion control.
