I-380 Signage Northbound
Signage for the ATE system is posted at the entrance to the city on all major roadways and just prior to
each location. On I-380, they are posted on the speed limit sign just prior to the location. If you look at the
speed limit sign, you will see the “Photo Enforced” warning signage as well. If you are driving at the
posted speed limit, no violation can be captured. All signage is posted based on the Manual for
Uniformed Traffic Control Device (MUTCD).

The signage on I-380 Northbound for speed limits and photo enforcement warnings is as follows:

  • Wright Brothers Blvd SW – Cedar Rapids city limit sign, “TRAFFIC LAWS PHOTO ENFORCED."  The speed limit is 70 MPH at this point.
  • 70 MPH sign just prior to 76th Ave SW overpass on the outside lane.
  • Highway 30 – 3200 feet prior to the interchange, the speed limit changes to 60 MPH.  The signage is on the inside and outside lanes with red flags above the signs.
  • 60 MPH signage just prior to 27th Ave overpass.
  • 15th Ave SW – 900 feet north of 15th Ave the speed limit changes to 55 MPH. The signage is on the inside and outside lanes with red flags above the signs. At the bottom of the speed limit sign is the “PHOTO ENFORCED” signage.
  • 55 MPH signage between 7th and 8th St NE on the outside lane.
  • 55 MPH signage at the end of the “S” curve just prior to H Ave exit on the outside lane.
  • 55 MPH signage at the on-ramp from H Ave NE on the outside lane. At the bottom of the speed limit sign is “PHOTO ENFORCED” signage.

I-380 Signage Southbound
Signage for the ATE system is posted at the entrance to the city on all major roadways and just prior to
each location. On I-380, they are posted on the speed limit sign just prior to the location. If you look at the
speed limit sign, you will see the “Photo Enforced” warning signage as well. If you are driving at the
posted speed limit, no violation can be captured. All signage is posted based on the Manual for
Uniformed Traffic Control Device (MUTCD).

The signage on I-380 Southbound for speed limits and photo enforcement warnings is as follows:

  • When you enter the City of Cedar Rapids at Blairsferry Rd, the speed limit is 60 MPH. Under the green “Cedar Rapids” sign is a sign stating “TRAFFIC LAWS PHOTO ENFORCED.”
  • Just past Collins Rd NE is a 60 MPH sign on the outside lanes.
  • At H Ave overhead signage (mile marker 22), there are two signs posting the change to 55 MPH.  These are on the outside and inside lanes. Below the 55 MPH signs are “Photo Enforced” signs.
  • The ATE cameras are located at the overpass of J Ave NE.
  • At the beginning for the 7th St exit, which is a continuation of the H Ave on-ramp, is a 55 MPH sign on the outside lanes.
  • At the 7th St on-ramp, which is the beginning of the 1st St exit, is a 55 MPH sign on the outside lane.  This is by Quaker Oats.
  • At the on-ramp of 1st St, on the bridge crossing the Cedar River, are two signs for 55 MPH on the inside and outside lanes. Below the signs are “Photo Enforced” signs.
  • The ATE cameras are located at the overpass of 1st Ave west.
