Lifeguard

Strong water and safety skills required. Current CPR-P and Lifeguard certification required. Previous experience helpful. June through August, average hours 20-35 per week. Starting at $9.75/hr.

Swim Instructor I 

Must possess good swimming and teaching skills. June through August, 10-15 hours per week. Starting at $9.75/hr.

Swim Instructor II (WSI)

Must possess strong swimming, excellent teaching and organizational skills. WSI certification required. June through August, 10-15 hours per week. Starting at $10.50/hr.

Pool Cashier/Concessionaire

Experience working with the public and handling money. June through August, 15-20 hours per week. Starting at $8.50/hr.

Clerical Position

Customer service and communication skills, including computer and telephone required. 40 hours per week. Hours are Monday through Friday and one Saturday (May 20), 10:30 a.m.-7:00 p.m.  $8.50-$9.00/hr.

Art Instructor

Must have solid background or basic knowledge of the fundamentals of art. Will instruct specific classes or workshops. Must be willing to work with people of all ages. Year-round, 1.5-35 hours per week. $10.00/hr.

Bever Park Farm Hand/Activities Leader

Lead and assist with programs and birthday parties at Old MacDonald’s Farm in Bever Park. Perform daily maintenance and animal care. Must be 18 years or older. May through October; weekdays and weekends. Weekends required. 20-40 hours per week. $9.00/hr.

Day Camp Counselor

Requires experience working with children ages 6-12. Will lead games, crafts, activities and special events. CPR certification preferred. June through August, 10-40 hours per week. $8.50/hr.

Farmers’ Market Supervisor

Supervise Noelridge Market. Public relations, organization, management, and good financial/record keeping skills required. May through October, 10-12 hours per week. $9.00/hr.

Northwest Recreation Center Front Desk Attendant

Customer service and communication skills, class registration on the computer and answering telephones required. Responsible for general supervision of rec center activities. Some room set-up and tear down as needed. Nights and weekends. Year-round, 4-15 hours per week. $10.00/hr.

Ushers Ferry Day Camp Counselor

Requires experience working with children ages 8-12. Will lead outdoor games, crafts, activities with emphasis on nature and cultural history education.  April through August, 15-20 hours per week as needed. $9.00/hr.

Ushers Ferry Lodge and Grounds Supervisor

Oversee rental groups using the Ushers Ferry Lodge and grounds. Seven-day operation with nights and weekends.  Year-round, hours vary. $9.00/hr.

Youth Activities Instructor

Requires experience working with preschool-age children and their parents. Will lead age appropriate art projects and introduce creative movement, rhythmic movement, and gross motor skills activities.  Year-round, 2-8 hours per week as needed. $8.50/hr.

Youth Outdoor Instructor

Requires experience working with children ages 3-14. Seeking motivated, enthusiastic individuals with hiking/nature/outdoor education experience to lead and assist in outdoor activities, including the Hiking Adventure Club.  May through August, hours per week vary as needed. $8.75-$10.25/hr.

Youth Science Activities Instructor

Lead preschool-age children and their parents or early elementary students through science based activities including story-telling, crafts, and experiments. Experience working with children required. May through August, hours per week vary as needed. $8.75-$10.25/hr.

Parks & Recreation Mascot - Otto the River Otter

Wear the otter costume for Department activities and special events. Must have an outgoing personality and be dependable. Preferred height 5’4”-5’8”. Year-round, hours vary. Paid per appearance.

Baseball, Flag Football, Football Cheerleading. T-Ball, Softball, Soccer and Volleyball Coaches

High school or college level sports experience, experience working with youth, and CPR certification preferred. Will teach fundamentals and skills from April through May, 6-20 hours per week. $8.75-$10.25/hr.

Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, Volleyball, T-Ball, Baseball, and Softball Coaches/Instructors

High school or college level sports experience, experience working with youth, and CPR certification preferred. Will teach fundamentals and skills of basketball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, wrestling, baseball or softball. June through July, 12-24 hours per week. $8.75-$10.25/hr.

Youth Sports Field Coordinator

Responsible for planning (with assistance of the Athletics Coordinator) and supervising many of the youth sports programs and activities. CPR certification preferred. April through July, 20-40 hours per week. $10.25/hr.

Softball Concessionaire

Experience working with the public and handling money necessary. Must be 16 years of age or older. April through August, 8-15 hours per week including nights and weekends. $9.00/hr.

Diamond Maintenance Crew

Responsible for chalking and dragging softball/baseball diamonds between games. No experience required. April through July, 8-15 hours per week (weekends only). $9.00/hr.

Golf Cashiers/Concessionaires

Must be age 18 or older. Responsible for collecting admission fees or passes, answering the phone, and selling merchandise and concessions. Experience in sales and working with the public preferred. Willingness to provide exceptional customer service required. Seven day operation – weekends involved. April through October, 25-40 hours per week. $8.25-$9.25/hr.

Golf Course Maintenance – Equipment Operators

Must be age 18 or older and be able to operate mowing equipment and perform daily physical tasks as directed in a timely manner. Seven-day operation/weekends involved. April through October, 25-40 hours per week. $9.00-10.00/hr.

Parks Athletic Field Maintenance

Must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid driver’s license. Responsible for field maintenance at Tait Cummins Sports and Tuma Soccer Complexes. Up to 40 hours per week. Hours and days may vary. $9.00/hr. 

Parks Seasonal Construction

Must be age 18 or older with a valid class B driver’s license. Type of work includes operation of hand tools, power tools, self-propelled construction equipment and tandem axel dump trucks. Up to 40 hours per week. Hours and days may vary. $14.00/hr.

 Parks Seasonal Maintenance

Must be age 18 or older and have a valid driver’s license. A variety of positions available including mowing, athletic field maintenance, flower gardens and farm work. Up to 40 hours per week. Hours and days may vary. $9.00-$9.75/hr.

Recreation Seasonal Maintenance

Must be age 18 or older and have a valid driver’s license. Mechanically inclined individual age 18 or older to maintain swimming pools and recreation centers. Up to 40 hours per week. Hours and days may vary. $9.00/hr.
