Fire

The Cedar Rapids Fire Department, the Cedar Rapids Police Department and various Safe Spot logoNeighborhood Coalitions have joined forces to create the Safe Spot Program.

The program is designed to provide a safe place for children to go when they feel threatened. Neighborhood groups throughout Cedar Rapids are determined to provide children a place of refuge if they are being chased, threatened or harassed. The "Safe Spot" sign is easily recognizable so kids can seek a safe place quickly.

Numerous businesses throughout Cedar Rapids have joined the program designated as "SAFE SPOTS". Safe Spot participants will provide temporary refuge and call for emergency assistance for the child.

Locations are identified by the official yellow "SAFE SPOT" logo placed near the building entrance. This helps children easily identify places that are a Safe Spot.

When danger lurks, urge your child to seek out a "SAFE SPOT".
