1973-1990: The urban renewal of First Street SW resulted in the end of the Troy Laundry company, although a modern coin laundry was built at its old location. The largest of the new concrete buildings was the American Federal savings and Loan facility at the corner of 2nd Ave. and First St. SW, now known as F&M Bank.
