1990-present: But going into the 2000’s things got better for this block of Third Street SE. Just prior to the Flood of 2008, the area was renamed “New Bohemia” and designated as an Arts and Cultural District with an emphasis on Historic Preservation. After the June 2008 Flood, there was a surge of redevelopment on this block. All of the historic buildings on the west side of the block were restored, including the CSPS Hall, old City Fire Station #4 , two old houses and several commercial buildings renovated for a new local restaurant known as Parlor City.
