The Cedar Rapids Fire Department works with the media, including television, newspaper and radio, to disseminate information about departmental activities. Media releases are an effective means of sharing information about major fires, hazardous materials incidents or other incidents of public interest. The Fire Department also uses media releases to share critical information about special events or prevention efforts.

Also, the Fire Department provides a log of recent fire incidents that will include the type of incident and incident location.
