New Development Standards

Development Standards and Guidelines have been adopted for residential and commercial development in Cedar Rapids. The following standards and guidelines were recommended by the Cedar Rapids Development and Building Task Force--comprised of area developers, architects, realtors, and city staff persons--and by the Planning Commission. These guidelines, adopted by the Cedar Rapids City Council on April 16, 2003, are available for download below. Also available is a Suggested Plant List for Special Uses. Copies of these documents may also be obtained at the Cedar Rapids Department of Development, Flood Relocation Site
