 JERRY MCGRANE

Biography:
McGrane has been president the last several years of the Oak Hill-Jackson Neighborhood Association in southeast Cedar Rapids. McGrane served on the Home Rule Charter Commission, which crafted the new form of government. He says his biggest accomplishment is founding of the non-profit Neighborhood Revitalization Service, which rehabs dilapidated houses one at a time. He wants to push for more jobs and more public safety. He wants to see construction cranes on the city’s skyline.
Employment:
Rock Island Railroad brakeman and National Oats shipping department employee; back injury disabled him in 1981.
