Volume Slowing Leaf Collection Crews

Leaf collection crews are running approximately one full day behind schedule due to the extreme volume of material set out for collection. Collection crews are removing approximately 160 tons of material per day and working long hours to reach as many properties as possible each day. The City of Cedar Rapids Solid Waste and Recycling Division asks for residents' patience while the crews work to reach every household once a week.

If your neighborhood has not received leaf removal service on the same day as your normal solid waste collection, the crews will return the next day to resume collection. Due to the high volume this week, leaf collection service will run on Saturday for customers that are not reached on Friday. Loose leaf collection service is scheduled to run until December 11th, weather permitting.
