City of Cedar Rapids to Observe Veteran's Day Holiday

The City of Cedar Rapids will observe the Veteran's Day holiday on November 11, 2009. Most City offices and departments will be closed. The following City services will continue to operate:

- Cedar Rapids Public Library, open 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
- CR Transit, buses running 5:50 a.m. - 6:40 p.m.
- Eastern Iowa Airport, open 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Fire Department, office closed, responding to emergencies
- Joint Communications Center
- Parking Office, open 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., parking meters will not be enforced
- Police Department, open 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
- Twin Pines Golf Course, open, weather permitting
- Water Pollution Control

The Solid Waste & Recycling department will be collecting garbage, yard ward waste and recycling on Veteran's Day.
