City Finals for Football Skills Contest held October 24 at Kingston Stadium
Cedar Rapids, IA - October 26, 2009 - On Saturday, October 24, 70 fourth and fifth graders from 10 elementary schools in Cedar Rapids competed in the Football Skills Contest City Finals at Kingston Stadium. Students at each elementary school participated during the school day in this contest sponsored by Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation. They were scored on their passing, punting, and place kicking skills. The top scorers were selected to compete in the City Finals. Here are the results:
4th Grade Girls: 1st Brinn Noonan, 2nd Taylor Mather, 3rd Romina Parraquez-Leuer
4th Grade Boys: 1st Casey O'Connell, 2nd Andrew Todd, 3rd Gage Cadenhead
5th Grade Girls: 1st Dana Riley, 2nd Anna Cross, 3rd Tea Barrett
5th Grade Boys: 1st Jacob Seedorff, 2nd Robert Bolden, 3rd Ian Thomas
