I380 Closed for period of time due to Crash

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA - October 19, 2009 On October 18th, 2009 at approximately 2329 hours the Cedar Rapids Police Department responded to an accident at I-380 Northbound just north of the 1st Street east exit. A Semi carrying a load of chain link fence rolled onto its side. The driver of the vehicle was not injured. During the course of the accident the Semi struck the I-380 Exit 20B sign causing it to fall across all lanes of traffic for I-380 Northbound. I-380 northbound will be closed at the Diagonal Drive Exit for an extended period of time. Drivers are instructed to use the Diagonal Drive exit and proceed to the 3rd street west on-ramp for the detour. More information will be released at a later time.
