The Cedar Rapids Civil Rights Commission MLK Day Book Drive was a huge success!

The Cedar Rapids Civil Rights Commission MLK Day Book Drive Raised Approximately 1,250 Books for Area Agencies and Non-Profits

The Cedar Rapids Civil Rights Commission, with the help of local donation sites: Brewed Awakenings, Cedar Rapids Public Library, Coe College, Foundation 2, Jane Boyd, Kirkwood Community college, Mount Mercy College, Prairie Soup Company, RuffaloCody, St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, and Summit Schools was able to raise approximately 1,250 books in the Commission’s MLK Day Book Drive.

The books will go to benefit local area non-profits in need of new materials, including: ASAC, Cedar Rapids Public Library, Catherine McCauley center, Foundation 2, Jane Boyd, Willis Dady Emergency Shelter, and Young parents Network.

Thank you for your donations!

We couldn’t have done it without your assistance. We appreciate the work that everyone put in to help advertise the drive, hang flyers, set up donation boxes and direct individuals with donations.

Thank you to Shylo Bundy, our Americorps VISTA Associate, for organizing this book drive!
