CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – July 2, 2012 – The Cedar Rapids Police Department will have extra enforcement on July 3 and 4, 2012, specifically looking for Impaired Drivers. The Cedar Rapids Police Department has received a grant to help specifically on apprehending Impaired Drivers. This grant is a yearlong grant, allowing law enforcement agencies to establish check points and have extra police cars on the street.
If citizens observe a possible impaired driver, call the non-emergency number that can be programmed into their phone. This number is 319-286-5495 for the Cedar Rapids Police Department. Know your location, direction of travel, and description of the car as well as the license plate.
The Cedar Rapids Police Department is encouraging people, if they are going to drink, drink responsibly and don’t drive. We will catch you.
