City Facilities: Rebuilding Progress 

More than 300 City facilities were damaged by the Flood of 2008. The City continues to repair and rebuild those facilities. Details about the largest facility construction projects are listed below.

Opening in 2012

• City Hall, 101 1st Street SE: Opens June 2012 

• Paramount Theatre, 123 3rd Avenue SE: Opens Fall 2012

Opening in 2013

• CR Transit Bus Garage, 427 8th St NW: Opens Spring 2013

• Central Fire Station, 713 1st Avenue SE: Opens Summer 2013

• Westside Fire Station No. 3: Opens Summer 2013

• Animal Care & Control, Kirkwood Community College Campus: Opens Summer 2013

• Cedar Rapids Public Library, 450 5th Avenue SE: Opens Summer 2013 

• Ground Transportation Center, 150 Transit Way SE: Opens Summer 2013    

Opening in 2014

• City Services Center, 1201 6th Street SW (formerly, the Public Works building): Opens Fall 2014
