Description:

  • Renovating former federal courthouse to accommodate City offices
  • Acquired in August 2010 through land exchanged with federal government
  • City Council Chambers completed in April 2011
  • Future home of City Council Offices, City Manager’s Office, City Clerk’s Office and City Attorney’s Office, as well as Community Development (Housing Services and Land Development Divisions), Human Resources and Finance Departments
  • Utility bill payments will be accepted at the new City Hall in June 2012

Estimated Timeline:

  • April 26, 2011 - City Council Chambers complete
  • August 2011 – Construction began
  • June 2012 – Construction complete
  • June 4, 2012 - New City Hall open to the public

Funding Sources:

  • $3.3 million state I-JOBS grant
  • $2.1 million from 2010 Legislative Appropriations
  • $3.5 million in state and federal historic tax credits
  • $200,000 in FEMA funds
  • $900,000 in City funds

Total Project Cost Estimate: $10 million
