CR Transit Bus Garage, 427 8th St NW 

Description

• The CR Transit bus garage and administrative offices were significantly damaged by the Flood of 2008.
• The new facility will be built on the same site with all critical components raised above the flood level.
• The new bus garage will be the storage and maintenance facility for 30 full-size buses.
• The facility will serve as CR Transit’s administrative offices. 

Estimated Timeline

• July 2012 – Construction begins
• April 2013 – Construction complete

Funding Sources

• $3,300,000 in FEMA repair funds
• $600,000 in Iowa Department of Transportation funds
• $300,000 in City Capital Improvement Project (CIP) funds
• $300,000 in Corridor Metropolitan Planning Organization Surface Transportation Program funds

Total Estimated Project Cost: $4.5 million
