Voluntary Animal Turn In
We understand that making the decision to euthanize your
family pet is very difficult. We ask you to fully
consider all options before deciding on euthanasia. There
are many good reasons to arrive at this decision and the
reason should always consider the most humane action for the
animal.
Many shelters or foster homes will accept
your animal and attempt to adopt it to a willing new owner.
Again, please consider what is most humane for the animal.
As a service the animal shelter does provide
euthanasia services. We ask that the owner transfer
the animal to the shelter and sign a release form. We
request the owner pay a fee of $50 to cover the costs for
the procedure and administrative fees.
By shelter policy, we generally do not allow
the owners to be present during the actual procedure since
complications may and do occur. Many veterinarians
however, do allow the owners to be present during the
procedure. For more information please contact your
own veterinarian or call us for more information.
